This article explains how vendors can submit new referrals for credentials approvals and indicate whether the therapist's approval is requested to take on a current caseload or in anticipation of future referral assignments.
Vendors currently have four options for new referrals for credentials approval when submitting the PVS Provider Intake Form:
- New Provider: Initial Approval
- New Provider: Missing Documents Resubmission
- New Provider: Review New Contract
- New Provider: Previously Approved Pending Referrals Assignment
If you are submitting the form for a provider in anticipation of future assignments, please indicate this on the form as shown in the screenshot below. POC access will not be granted until the provider is assigned to the school(s).
- Purpose of Request: Requesting approval for anticipated future referrals
- Student ID or Ticket Name/ID for Current Referral(s): leave blank or list "N/A"
Therapists who are approved but do not have a caseload assigned yet will be listed as Approved Pending Referral Assignment. These therapists will not have Pearson Online Classroom (POC) accounts created and will not be added to the mailing list for welcome emails. Once the therapist is ready to take on a caseload and new referrals, please resubmit the provider intake form and indicate that the therapist is now accepting current referral. Steps below provide additional details.
If you are submitting the form for a therapist who will be taking on current referrals, or the therapist was approved pending referral assignments and now has accepted current referrals, please indicate this on the form as shown in the screenshot below.
- Therapist/Provider Submission Type: New Provider - Previously Approved Pending Referral Assignment
- Purpose of Request: Requesting approval for current student referral(s)
- Student ID or Ticket Name/ID for Current Referral(s): Enter the student ID, Ticket Name for student referrals, or Ticket ID for student referrals
When submitting the form, be sure to indicate that this is a new provider who was previously approved pending referral assignment. Indicate that you are requesting approval for current student referrals (meaning that the therapist is now taking on a caseload), and provide at least one student ID or ticket name/ID for a referral so that the caseload can be verified. Pearson's Compliance team will review credentials to confirm that the therapist continues to meet standards for approval, and then the therapist will move to "Approved Active." This means that a POC account will be created, and the therapist will be added to the mailing list for welcome emails since they now have a caseload assigned.
